Aura Design System

Audits

Third-party UI, motion, performance, and WorkOS skills. They are not part of Aura. Install them from upstream when you want an audit.

These skills are not part of Aura. Nothing in aura init, aura setup, or aura blueprint installs them, and no Aura rule loads them. Install one from its upstream repo when you want that audit, run it, then apply the findings yourself.

aura blueprint deletes the copies older Aura versions wrote into the project: the Emil skill folders, .cursor/skills/react-best-practices/ (including GUIDE.md or AGENTS.md), .cursor/skills/vercel-react-best-practices/, and the same names under .agents/skills/. A project install of those exact names is removed on the next blueprint. Install with -g to keep the skill in your user directory, or remove it when the audit is done.

The skills CLI does not document a .gitignore entry for this. Do not commit the installed folders.

Commands below were checked against skills 1.7.4 (npx skills add --help and npx skills add <repo> --list). pnpm dlx skills add is the same CLI.

Emil Kowalski

Source: emilkowalski/skills. npx skills add emilkowalski/skills --list is the current catalog. Aura used to copy twelve of them; install only the ones you want.

npx skills add emilkowalski/skills \
  --skill emil-design-eng \
  --skill review-animations \
  --skill improve-animations \
  --skill find-animation-opportunities \
  --skill break-ui \
  --skill mobile-native \
  --skill apple-design \
  -a cursor -y --copy
SkillWhat it checks
emil-design-engUI polish and design-engineering decisions
review-animationsMotion in a diff against curves, durations, and springs
improve-animationsMotion across the codebase, with a fix plan per finding
find-animation-opportunitiesWhere a screen should and should not animate
apple-designGesture, spring, depth, type, and restraint, for the web
mobile-nativePhone feel: tap highlight, 100vh, safe areas, overscroll, input zoom
break-uiWorst-case data: long names, empty lists, huge counts, missing fields

animate, animation-vocabulary, ask-sonner, pick-ui-library, and prototype are in the same repo. Add another --skill <name> for each. Repeat --skill is the documented way to install more than one.

Run one before a PR that touches UI or motion:

/emil-design-eng Audita la pantalla de checkout (app/checkout/page.tsx) antes de abrir el PR.
/review-animations Revisa las animaciones de este diff contra los tokens de Aura.
/break-ui Prueba la tabla de usuarios con datos extremos y dime qué se rompe.

Vercel React performance

Source: vercel-labs/agent-skills, skill vercel-react-best-practices (the folder in that repo is skills/react-best-practices; the name the CLI installs is vercel-react-best-practices). It checks waterfalls, bundle size, server work, re-renders, and auth plus input validation inside server actions. In an Aura app, validation stays validateFormData with an ajv JSON Schema. Do not add zod.

npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills --skill vercel-react-best-practices -a cursor -y --copy
/vercel-react-best-practices Haz una auditoría de rendimiento de app/dashboard y sus server actions.

WorkOS

Source: workos/skills. WorkOS documents npx skills add workos/skills, which installs the workos skill (AuthKit, SSO, Directory Sync, RBAC, widgets, and the other references that skill routes to). On 2026-10-24, npx skills add workos/skills --list listed workos and skipped workos-widgets because its SKILL.md frontmatter does not parse. Install the skill the CLI lists:

npx skills add workos/skills --skill workos -a cursor -y --copy
/workos Revisa esta integración de AuthKit en Next.js y dime qué falta.

Aura does not vendor this skill and blueprint does not install or delete it. Aura's own authorization setup is gdp-ts, which blueprint still installs.

What you get back

A findings list. Each finding has a severity (high, medium, low), a file:line, the problem, and a suggested fix. The audit does not edit code. Apply the findings you accept in the same PR or in a follow-up. Where an audit disagrees with Aura foundation rules or DESIGN.md, Aura wins.

Remove one when you are done:

npx skills remove --skill review-animations -a cursor -y
npx skills remove --skill vercel-react-best-practices -a cursor -y
npx skills remove --skill workos -a cursor -y
